An amazing August wedding at the Elm Bank in Wellesley, MA where East Coast Soul's Soulsville ensemble had a kickass night of music!
East Coast Soul was grateful to be asked to join this beautiful couple for their stunning Elm Bank Wedding in Wellesley, MA.
Preprations for the couple's Big Day
Our preparations for the big day began well ahead, with the bride and groom sharing their music and logistical preferences and vision with us for the big day (we take our preparation process extremely seriously). The bride and groom were happy to be a key part of this advanced planning and incredibly helpful throughout.
Once the big day arrived, East Coast Soul traveled to Wellesley, MA and carried out our normal load-in, set up, and sound check process for Elm Bank weddings. We're often asked about our process for loading in and sound checking at various venues. This is a part of the day that we take seriously, spending extra time to avoid rushing, and ensuring our gear is properly tuned for the room.
Ceremony
In this case, East Coast Soul was not involved with couple's ceremony, with those arrangements having already been taken care of.
Cocktail Hour
As is often the case, East Coast Soul was asked to provide cocktail hour music. Cocktail hour is a great opportunity for the bride and groom to relax after the heightened emotions of the ceremony. We contribute by performing a variety of relaxed music for guests to enjoy listening to. In this case, and featured music by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and more.
Reception
In a bulk of wedding celebrations, the band is asked to take care of MC services for the formal portions of the wedding celebrations. This Elm Bank Wedding was no different.
The couple’s First Dance
The bride and groom's first dance is invariably one of the most unforgettable parts of the big day. It's a chance for the bride and groom to take a moment for themselves. With this part of the wedding complete, the guests and vendors took a break for dinner. After a quick break, East Coast Soul's Soulsville ensemble circled back to the stage.
Dance Party
our dance performances often start with older material. We've discovered this is an excellent approach to get folks up on the dance floor with songs they're familiar with. Artists like Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Earth Wind & Fire, and more dominated the outset of our performance. We then moved into playing tunes by artists like Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson and more. Finally, we ended the night performing contemporary material that everyone could sing along with.
Guests danced non-stop from beginning to end, and we limited our breaks to ensure people had as much time to dance as possible.
Thanks so much to this beautiful couple for having us at their beautiful August wedding at Elm Bank! And thank you to Lovely Valentine for sharing these beautiful photos with us!
