"The Daptone ensemble of East Coast Soul was absolutely incredible at our wedding on Peaks Island! We were a little unsure of what to expect as we didn't see many reviews of Daptone in particular, but they had AMAZING vibes, energy, and skills - what incredible musicians and vocalists. They brought all the energy and fun and the communication was impeccable throughout - they also managed to nail the set list with basically every song we'd been hoping to hear. "We had East Coast Soul at our wedding in September and it was absolutely EPIC. We had acoustic guitar for the ceremony, two-piece band for cocktail hour and 7 piece for the reception. "While I didn't share this with East Coast Soul, I do have a background with event and wedding planning. I have planned and worked on weddings/events for years, and of varying sizes, budgets, themes, and locations. Many brides think that food or the dress makes or breaks the wedding. In reality, it comes down to the music. You want to have music that makes people want to dance (obviously) but also feel like they belong. East Coast Soul BLEW my wedding out of the water! I have seen many wedding bands due to my past planning experience, and ECS were without a doubt the BEST. They completely understood the type of music we were looking for and did a great job curating the perfect playlist of both classic and contemporary music. Half of our wedding guests were from Sweden and they did a great job adding Swedish pop songs to their songlist (ABBA, Robyn). Their sound was tight and they flowed through songs in a smooth - not clunky - manner. One of our wedding guests is a music producer in Europe (Sweden) and stated that it was the single best wedding band he's ever seen. He also knows Robyn and said she would have loved and been very impressed by their rendition of 'Dancing on My Own.' When ECS (KING BAND - 9 pieces) was done performing, guests didn't want to leave because the band brought such wonderful energy. While I know guests won't remember the flowers, hors d'oeurves, or party favors, I know for a fact that they will remember the band as many said the band made the wedding the best wedding they've ever been to. If you're contemplating East Coast Soul, BOOK THEM. You will not only love them, but you will remember them for the rest of your life."

"The BEST - Hire them! We cannot say enough about this East Coast Soul! We hired the King ensemble for our small, coastal Maine wedding and they TORE. IT. UP. They kept people on the dance floor all night and ended the evening with some truly epic sing-alongs. "The East Coast Soul King Ensemble performed at our wedding in August and words simply cannot describe how amazing they were! They had everyone on the dance floor all night long, even people who never dance at weddings! In fact, they were so good that my husband and I opted not to take sunset photos because we were enjoying the dancing and performance so much. Special shout out to Darrean and Jamaal, who were the most incredible vocalists we have ever seen live (seriously - so talented!!) Many of our guests told us that they either sounded like the original recordings of songs played or performed even better versions of the songs. Prior to the wedding, they were helpful/responsive in outlining logistics and developing our agenda for the reception, and throughout the planning process they were remarkably responsive to questions and issues that emerged (much appreciated during COVID uncertainty). As great as they were prior the wedding, the real magic was on the day of. They did a great job providing background music for the ceremony before absolutely blowing us away at the reception. Not only did the band sound amazing, but they put on an unbelievable performance - shock and awe among our guests. "The best wedding band! We were blown away by how great ECS was -- working with them to plan the music for our wedding was so easy and they were really accommodating with all of our special requests. We booked the Stax ensemble and opted for a 6-piece band, and they were fantastic. The mix of music was just what we wanted, and the performance by the vocalists really upped the energy level with our guests. We barely stopped dancing all night and our guests raved about the band. We had them help with the mic/sound for our outdoor ceremony as well, and that was also super easy and smooth. We would highly recommend booking ECS!"

"When you are a destination bride, choosing vendors is stressful and nerve wracking! In selecting East Coast Soul, I basically went off of online reviews, YouTube videos and conversations with the band director (?). I am so glad we chose them and COULD NOT have been happier! Not only was the band director incredibly easy to communicate with, flexible and reliable, the band was outstanding! Everything went according to the questionnaire we filled out a few weeks before and they were lively and high energy. We had a small wedding (75 guests) and I was worried about the dance floor being "dead" the whole time. This was not the case. East Coast Soul did an incredible job keeping everyone dancing!"

"East Coast Soul provided such a wonderful evening! On the evening of the wedding, we were over the moon. Sneaking a listen of the jazz before we were introduced, we were blown away by their talent. While we were so caught in the moments throughout the evening, listening to ECS serenade us was breath taking. People asked all night where we found them and during brunch were stunned by the 'concert' we treated them to the night before. We were so stunned by their flexibility and pure talent throughout the night. I so wish we could have found a way to have them play longer- it was just PERFECT. We hope to attend another wedding with ECS because I cannot wait to be a guest at one of their events and have no responsibilities, but to enjoy the concert and dance floor."

The entire night was a huge dance party, everyone out of their seats just having the best time ever - all thanks to ECS! We had a couple of impromptu speeches and a few twists and turns in the structure of the night, and the band handled them seamlessly - as if it was all planned that way. We had some specific requests around not playing certain verses in select songs, changing up some words here and there and they nailed every request! Additionally, Art was incredibly responsive, which made the planning process super easy and stress-free.
