Perched on the coast of Cape Cod, Oyster Harbors Club is one of those wedding venues that immediately feels timeless — a stretch of waterfront, manicured grounds, and classic New England architecture all coming together to create something incredibly elegant. When Maggie and Ryan invited East Coast Soul’s Stax Ensemble to celebrate with them here in 2010, we knew their day was going to be special. Even as a throwback, this wedding still stands out for its warmth, style, and the kind of joyful energy Cape Cod weddings are known for.

From cocktail hour through the final song of the night, we had the honor of bringing the soundtrack to Maggie and Ryan’s Oyster Harbors celebration, and it remains one of our favorite Cape Cod memories.

A Classic Cape Cod Wedding Venue

Located in Osterville on a private island, Oyster Harbors Club offers the kind of coastal New England backdrop that couples dream about: sweeping lawns, ocean air, and a clubhouse that blends classic charm with understated luxury. Cape Cod weddings have a way of feeling both relaxed and elevated at the same time, and this venue captures that perfectly.

As guests arrived, the setting felt like a true New England getaway — calm, beautiful, and filled with that signature Cape Cod light.

Cocktail Hour on the Cape

While East Coast Soul was not part of the ceremony for this wedding, we joined the celebration as guests transitioned into cocktail hour. The Stax Ensemble provided a relaxed blend of classic jazz and vocal standards, with selections inspired by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and other timeless artists.

Cocktail hour at Oyster Harbors Club is a standout moment of any wedding day — ocean breezes, guests scattered across the lawn and patio, and music drifting through the air. The jazz set added just the right amount of atmosphere as guests settled into the evening.

Reception & MC Services

As dinner approached, East Coast Soul shifted into MC mode, guiding introductions and announcements with the same warm, unobtrusive approach that defines our style today. The reception space at Oyster Harbors Club is bright, inviting, and perfectly sized for a lively celebration, making it easy to keep guests engaged and the evening flowing naturally.

Maggie and Ryan shared their first dance early in the night — a moment that felt intimate and meaningful, framed by soft lighting and surrounded by family and friends. From there, guests transitioned into dinner while the band took a brief break.

The Dance Floor: Soul, Motown & Endless Energy

Once dinner wrapped, the Stax Ensemble returned to the stage and the dance floor took off immediately. We opened with classic soul and Motown favorites — Marvin Gaye, Sam & Dave, The Temptations — the kind of songs that always bring generations together and make everyone feel at ease.

As the night unfolded, we built into high-energy hits from Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Prince, and more, creating the perfect mix of nostalgia and big-chorus excitement. Toward the end of the evening, we added in contemporary selections to finish the night with a burst of sing-along energy.

The dance floor stayed full from beginning to end, and we kept our breaks as short as possible to make the absolute most of the celebration. There was a joyful, easygoing Cape Cod energy in the room that carried the night beautifully.

A Timeless Cape Cod Celebration

Maggie and Ryan’s Oyster Harbors Club wedding remains one of our favorite memories from the early days of East Coast Soul. The combination of a classic Cape Cod venue, a warm and gracious couple, and a dance floor that never let up made for an unforgettable evening.
