Private Residence Wedding in Bethlehem, CT

August 13, 2016

Ensemble: Soulsville | Ten Piece

An unreal wedding at the Private Residence in Bethlehem, CT where East Coast Soul's Soulsville ensemble left absolutely everything out on the dance floor!

East Coast Soul was grateful to be brought to join this beautiful couple for their stunning Private Residence Wedding in Bethlehem, CT.

Preprations for the couple's Big Day

Our planning for the big day began months in advance, with the bride and groom offering a myriad of musical and logistical options with us for the big day (preparation is a key part of our process). The bride and groom were heavily involved in this advanced planning and a huge asset throughout.

Once the big day arrived, East Coast Soul traveled to Bethlehem, CT and moved swiftly through our standard load-in, set up, and sound check process for Private Residence weddings. Being prepared for load-in and set-up at any given venue is a critical part of our workflow. This is a part of the day that we take seriously, spending extra time to avoid rushing, and ensuring our gear is properly tuned for the room.

Ceremony

In this case, East Coast Soul was not involved with couple's ceremony, with those arrangements having already been taken care of.

Cocktail Hour

As is often the case, East Coast Soul was requested to perform cocktail hour music. Cocktail hour is a wonderful chance for the bride and groom to unwind after the intense emotions of the ceremony. We contribute by performing a blend of relaxed music for guests to listend to. In this case, and featured music by artists such as John Coltrane, Miles Davies, and more.

Reception

In a lion's share of receptions, we is asked to handle MC services for the formal portions of the weddings. This Private Residence Wedding was no different.

The bride and groom’s First Dance

The groom and bride's first dance is almost always one of the most meaningful parts of the big day. It's a chance for the bride and groom to take a moment for themselves. With this part of the wedding finished, the guests and vendors took a break for dinner. After a super brief break, East Coast Soul's Soulsville ensemble circled back to the stage.

Dance Party

East Coast Soul shows often start with older material. We've found this is a great way to get everyone up on the dance floor with songs they're familiar with. Artists like Sam and Dave, The Temptations, Earth Wind & Fire, and more dominated the outset of our performance. We then transitioned into playing tunes by artists like Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson and more. Finally, we ended the night performing contemporary material that everyone could sing along with.

Guests danced non-stop from beginning to end, and we limited our breaks to ensure people had as much time to dance as possible.

Thanks so much to this beautiful couple for having us at their beautiful August wedding at Private Residence!
