An unbelievable wedding at the The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch in Jeffersonville, VT where East Coast Soul's Atlantic ensemble definitely made some new best friends!
East Coast Soul was grateful to be brought to join Caitlin & Benny for their stunning The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch Wedding in Jeffersonville, VT.
Preprations for Caitlin & Benny's Big Day
Our preparations for the wedding began well ahead, with Caitlin & Benny offering a myriad of musical and logistical options with us for the wedding (preparation is a key part of our process). Caitlin & Benny were incredibly helpful during this advanced planning and super helpful throughout.
Once the wedding arrived, East Coast Soul traveled to Jeffersonville, VT and moved swiftly through our standard load-in, set up, and sound check process for The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch weddings. We get a lot of questions about the logistics of loading in to any given venue. This is a part of the day that we take seriously, spending extra time to avoid rushing, and ensuring our gear is properly tuned for the room.
In this case, East Coast Soul was not involved with couple's ceremony, with those arrangements having already been taken care of.
As is often the case, East Coast Soul was requested to perform cocktail hour music. Cocktail hour is a great opportunity for the bride and groom to relax after the heightened emotions of the ceremony. We contribute by performing a blend of relaxed music for guests to listend to. In this case, and featured music by artists such as Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and more.
In a lion's share of receptions, the band is asked to take care of MC services for the formal portions of the celebrations. This The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch Wedding was no different.
The couple’s First Dance
The bride and groom's first dance is invariably one of the most meaningful parts of the wedding. It's an opportunity for the bride and groom to take a moment for themselves. With this portion of the evening finished, the guests and vendors took a break for dinner. After a super brief break, East Coast Soul's Atlantic ensemble returned to the stage.
East Coast Soul shows commonly kick off with vintage material. We've found this is a great way to get guests up on the dance floor with songs they know and love. Artists like Sam and Dave, The Temptations, Earth Wind & Fire, and more dominated the outset of our performance. We then transitioned into performing music by artists like Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson and more. Finally, we ended the night performing contemporary material that everyone could sing along with.
Guests danced non-stop from beginning to end, and we limited our breaks to ensure people had as much time to dance as possible.
Thanks so much to Caitlin & Benny for having us at their beautiful June wedding at The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch!
