East Coast Soul was blessed to be brought to join Kate & Jeffrey for their stunning Riverside Farm Wedding in .

Preprations for Kate & Jeffrey's Big Day

Kate and Our groundwork for the big day began well ahead, with Kate & Jeffrey sharing their music and logistical preferences and vision with us for the big day (we always leave an excess of time for preparation). Kate & Jeffrey were happy to be a key part of this advanced planning and a huge asset throughout.

Once the big day arrived, East Coast Soul traveled to and carried out our normal load-in, set up, and sound check process for Riverside Farm weddings. We're often asked about our process for loading in and sound checking at various venues. This is a part of the day that we take seriously, spending extra time to avoid rushing, and ensuring our gear is properly tuned for the room.

Ceremony

In this case, East Coast Soul was not involved with couple's ceremony, with those arrangements having already been taken care of.

Cocktail Hour

As is common, East Coast Soul was requested to perform cocktail hour music. Cocktail hour is a great opportunity for the bride and groom to unwind after the intense emotions of the ceremony. We do our part by providing a variety of relaxed music for guests to enjoy listening to. In this case, cocktail hour took place Tented area adjacent to the barn. We provided a Sax/Keys/Bass Trio and and featured music by artists such as Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and more.

Reception

In a bulk of celebrations, the band is asked to provide MC services for the formal portions of the receptions. This Riverside Farm Wedding was no different. The guests of honor set the tone by dancing in to You Make My Dreams by Hall & Oates with everyone cheering them on.

The groom and bride’s First Dance

The bride and groom's first dance is invariably one of the most meaningful parts of the big day. It's an opportunity for the bride and groom to take a moment for themselves. Kate & Jeffrey danced to How Sweet It Is - Marvin Gaye, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. With this portion of the wedding complete, the guests and vendors took a break for dinner. After a super brief break, East Coast Soul's Soulsville ensemble circled back to the stage.

Dance Party

As part of our preparation process, we like to get a sense of what the bride and groom are excited to hear. Kate & Jeffrey Were a huge help here, giving us a ton of great input. Guests danced non-stop from beginning to end, and we limited our breaks to ensure people had as much time to dance as possible.
