Riverside Farm Wedding in Pittsfield, VT

East Coast Soul was blessed to be invited to join Kate & Jeffrey for their stunning Riverside Farm Wedding in Pittsfield, VT.

Preprations for Kate & Jeffrey's Big Day

Kate and Our planning for the wedding began well ahead, with Kate & Jeffrey sharing their music and logistical preferences and vision with us for the wedding (preparation is a key part of our process). Kate & Jeffrey were happy to be a key part of this advanced planning and super helpful throughout.

Once the wedding arrived, East Coast Soul traveled to Pittsfield, VT and began our standard load-in and sound check for Riverside Farm weddings. We get a lot of questions about the logistics of loading in to any given venue. This is a part of the day that we take seriously, spending extra time to avoid rushing, and ensuring our gear is properly tuned for the room.

Ceremony

In this case, East Coast Soul was not involved with couple's ceremony, with those arrangements having already been taken care of.

Cocktail Hour

As is often the case, East Coast Soul was asked to provide cocktail hour music. Cocktail hour is a great opportunity for the bride and groom to relax after the heightened emotions of the ceremony. We do our part by performing a blend of relaxed music for guests to enjoy listening to. In this case, cocktail hour took place Tented area adjacent to the barn. We provided a Sax/Keys/Bass Trio and and featured music by artists such as John Coltrane, Miles Davies, and more.

Reception

In a bulk of weddings, the band is asked to provide MC services for the formal portions of the weddings. This Riverside Farm Wedding was no different. The guests of honor set the tone by dancing in to You Make My Dreams by Hall & Oates with the wedding guests cheering them in.

The couple’s First Dance

The newly married couple's first dance is consistently one of the most emotional parts of the wedding. It's a chance for the bride and groom to take a moment for themselves. Kate & Jeffrey danced to How Sweet It Is - Marvin Gaye, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. With this portion of the wedding complete, the guests and vendors took a break for dinner. After a quick break, East Coast Soul's Soulsville ensemble returned to the stage.

Dance Party

As part of our preparation process, we like to get a sense of what the bride and groom are excited to hear. Kate & Jeffrey Were a huge help here, giving us a ton of great input. Guests danced non-stop from beginning to end, and we limited our breaks to ensure people had as much time to dance as possible.
