Testimonial

"HIRE THIS BAND! I planned my wedding date around their availability, and boy was it worth it. From the beginning, the band's managers were very open to my thoughts and needs, and were very willing to negotiate. I got an 8-piece band featuring Giang, Dan, and Sophia, and they traveled up to Vermont for a very reasonable price. And what a show! I danced probably every single song with an enormous grin on my face. My guests were dancing right in front of the band like groupies at their favorite band's concert. I received compliments all night on how amazing they were. Not only are these top-notch musicians (we had many professional musicians at the wedding who will emphatically say the same), but they also are top-notch performers -- their enthusiasm really got the party started and the band danced and danced all night. Many of my guests (including me) were trying to think of future events they can plan where they can feature East Coast Soul. Truly -- they made my wedding amazing. My husband and I can't stop grinning when we think of great songs they played or how they introduced "This is How We Do It." So hire this band. You'll love them. In the words of Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson, "don't believe me just watch." "

Inn at Baldwin Creek Wedding in Bristol, Vermont

Venue: The Inn at Baldwin Creek, Bristol, VT

Date: August 22nd, 2015

Couple: Anna & Gabriel

Anna & Gabriel’s Inn at Baldwin Creek wedding was the perfect expression of a Vermont summer celebration: relaxed, scenic, warm, joyful, and built entirely around great food, great people, and a dance floor that absolutely rocked. With no formalities, no staged intros, and no special dances, the night flowed with an organic, homegrown energy that fit Bristol’s countryside setting beautifully.

A Vermont Setting with Rustic Charm

The Inn at Baldwin Creek is one of Vermont’s hidden gems—tucked among rolling hills, gardens, and historic barns. The band arrived early in the afternoon, loading in at noon, setting up by 2:00, and completing soundcheck at 2:30. Vermont’s slower pace and big skies made the setup process feel peaceful, and the venue team, led by coordinator Laura Mack, kept the day running smoothly.

The reception barn—where the dance party would later erupt—offered the perfect mix of rustic character and modern comfort, ideal for a lively East Coast Soul performance.

Ceremony on the Lawn

The ceremony took place outside near the reception tent, surrounded by trees and mountain air. Anna & Gabriel opted not to involve the band for ceremony sound or performance, keeping things simple and heartfelt with their own selected arrangements.

The energy from the ceremony carried effortlessly into the rest of the evening.

Cocktail Hour on the Lawn & Patio

From 4:30 to 6:00, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio and lawn adjacent to the tent and barn. East Coast Soul provided a guitar/sax duo performing upbeat, eclectic jazz and soul-inspired selections—laid-back and fun, with enough groove to foreshadow what was coming later.

The setting couldn’t have been more Vermont: wide-open lawns, a warm summer breeze, and clusters of guests scattered between the barn, the tent, and the garden paths.

Dinner Beneath the Tent

Dinner ran from 6:15 to 7:15 inside the tent, where guests shared farm-to-table dishes that the Inn at Baldwin Creek is known for. During this hour, the band enjoyed vendor meals alongside guests, getting ready to launch the full dance set.

Toasts began at 7:15, delivered by Anna’s father (Ugo), Gabriel’s father (Alfonso), and Anna’s sister (Sara). ECS provided a microphone setup accessible from the tent’s dining area, ensuring every toast carried clearly across the space.

Per the couple’s wishes, the band was asked to kick off the performance immediately after the final toast—no downtime, no transition music. Straight into party mode.
