A lovely May wedding at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort Wedding in Chittenden, VT where East Coast Soul's Stax ensemble found it nearly impossible to say goodbye to this particular group of guests!
East Coast Soul was blessed to be invited to join Keely & John for their stunning Mountain Top Inn & Resort Wedding Wedding in Chittenden, VT.
Preprations for Keely & John's Big Day
Our preparations for the wedding began many weeks prior, with Keely & John offering a myriad of musical and logistical options with us for the wedding (preparation is a key part of our process). Keely & John were heavily involved in this advanced planning and a huge asset throughout.
Once the wedding arrived, East Coast Soul traveled to Chittenden, VT and began our standard load-in and sound check for Mountain Top Inn & Resort Wedding weddings. We get a lot of questions about the logistics of loading in to any given venue. This is a part of the day that we take seriously, spending extra time to avoid rushing, and ensuring our gear is properly tuned for the room.
Ceremony
In this case, East Coast Soul was not involved with couple's ceremony, with those arrangements having already been taken care of.
Cocktail Hour
As is common, East Coast Soul was asked to provide cocktail hour music. Cocktail hour is a great opportunity for the bride and groom to relax after the heightened emotions of the ceremony. We do our part by performing a variety of relaxed music for guests to listend to. In this case, and featured music by artists such as Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and more.
Reception
In a majority of celebrations, East Coast Soul is asked to handle MC services for the formal portions of the celebrations. This Mountain Top Inn & Resort Wedding Wedding was no different.
The groom and bride’s First Dance
The newly married couple's first dance is invariably one of the most meaningful parts of the wedding. It's an opportunity for the bride and groom to take a moment for themselves. With this portion of the evening complete, the guests and vendors took a break for dinner. After a quick break, East Coast Soul's Stax ensemble circled back to the stage.
Dance Party
East Coast Soul shows often start with older material. We've found this is a great way to get everyone relaxed and dancing with songs they're familiar with. Artists like Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Earth Wind & Fire, and more dominated the outset of our performance. We then transitioned into playing tunes by artists like Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson and more. Finally, we ended the night performing contemporary material that everyone could sing along with.
Guests danced non-stop from beginning to end, and we limited our breaks to ensure people had as much time to dance as possible.
Thanks so much to Keely & John for having us at their beautiful May wedding at Mountain Top Inn & Resort Wedding! And thank you to Garrentee Photography for sharing these beautiful photos with us!
